Hi! My name is Charlotte Hickok. I founded the Wild Mountain Rose band in 2016, for preforming at the first “The Conversation Has To Happen” event held in Olds, as the lead singer and bassist. 

For years I have had an overwhelming sense that my gift of singing, and sharing my heart through song, should be shared. I did my best to ignore that feeling, but finally took the step to making it a reality.This sense was reinforced by Reverend Janice Beaudry, the keyboardist for our group, who long had encouraged me to sing publicly, and provided many opportunities for me to share my gift. 

As an accomplished musician herself, Janice has instilled much confidence, and pushed me to do more with my vocals than I ever believed I could. Her ability to play just about anything on the keyboard has provided the platform for my personal growth as a singer. I learned to play rhythm guitar in 2017, to accompany myself in solo performances , and add to Janice’s keyboard expertise. 

In 2023, we were joined by Bassist and sound engineer, David Wagner, who has been instrumental in giving the band a broader sound, and an air of professionalism by adding instrumentation through digital effects. He has been a huge supporter and encourager to me. I am grateful to both Janice and David for their influence and support. Together, we learn, grow, and develop our sound.

It is our desire to bring truth, reality, hope, love and joy to others through our music. Our song choices often reflect a moment in our life, a challenge, or heartbreak, a desire for change, a passion, or conviction, recognition of a higher power, a journey from pain to healing, or a message of love shared and experienced. It is through our songs that I share my thoughts, feelings, experiences and beliefs. It is my hope and my prayer that one of our songs will impact your life in some way, as I have been impacted by them.
